#FixNASS2027 is a widespread national grassroots peer-to-peer political re-awakening campaign and revolutionary mass voters mobilization movement designed to enforce a democratic regime change in the 2027 general elections against members of the 10th National Assembly and also members of the state legislature, being a political revenge action by the voting populace, provoked by the refusal of members of the 10th National Assembly to adopt compulsory electronic transmission of results, in the amended 2026 Electoral Bill. #FixNASS2027 is a democratic political revenge action movement created and championed by concerned citizens, aimed to help entrench functional pro-people independent Nigerian federal and state legislatures, in pragmatic replacement for the rubber stamp, fake and weak ones currently in place.
In February 2026, the 10th National Assembly passed the amended 2026 Electoral Bill but rejected compulsory electronic transmission of results as against what the general public wanted and demanded of them. As a matter of fact, compulsory electronic transmission of results was the most important part of the amended 2026 Electoral Bill, and its passage into law was what the generality of Nigerians (the general public) requested and demanded of the lawmakers of the 10th National Assembly but they failed us. Following this unfortunate political development, the #FixNASS2027 was launched in retaliation by the voting populace, as a political revenge action movement whose aim is to ensure that members of the 10th National Assembly are massively voted out in the 2027 general elections and replaced in the 11th National Assembly with patriotic and credible Nigerians who will respect and accountably represent those who elected them, rather than act as “puppets”, “stooges”, or a “rubber stamp” for the executive arm, as currently being experienced.
#FixNASS2027 was unveiled at the Radisson Blu (Victoria Island) on Monday 16th February 2026 by a renowned political economist, Prof Pat Utomi, alongside two prominent Nigerian activists, Femi Falana SAN, who is a human rights lawyer, and Comrade Kennedy Iyere, a humanitarian activist. The goal is to vote out members of the 10th National Assembly in the 2027 general elections and ensure they do not return to the 11th National Assembly, while replacing them with credible Nigerians who are fit for purpose, using revenge or protest voting as weapons.
#FixNASS2027 is a political action movement anchored and driven by concerned citizens, including both ordinary Nigerians and the elites but coordinated by a coalition of NGOs, CSOs, FBOs and cooperative groups through the Youths Off The Street Initiative (YOTSI), 40Million Ballots Movement, and the Nigerian Youths and Women Political Emancipation Movement (NYWOPEM).
Credible elections remain Nigeria's only means of freedom from its prolonged existence as a "captured state" whose political power and economic fortune have been hijacked and taken over by a few political and business elites who constitute an insignificant percentage of the country’s large population. Until political seats are earned and won through credible elections, Nigeria will continue to exist as a captured state.
