Credible elections remain Nigeria’s only means of freedom from its prolonged existence as a “captured state” whose political power and economic fortune have been hijacked and taken over by a few political and business elites who constitute an insignificant percentage of the country’s large population. Until political seats are earned and won through credible elections, Nigeria will continue to exist as a captured state

2026 offered Nigeria a golden opportunity to pass a new electoral bill designed to help checkmate vote-rigging and ensure credible elections through real-time electronic transmission of results but the 10th National Assembly rejected compulsory electronic transmission despite knowing that their decision is a huge setback for democracy and not in the best interest of the general public who supposedly elected them. They resisted the pressure mounted on them by the electorate (the voting populace) who they claim to represent at the National Assembly and defiantly stood their ground against mandatory electronic transmission.

For these unpatriotic and undemocratic acts of theirs, the voting populace have passed a vote of no confidence on members of the 10th National Assembly and vowed to vote them out of the 11th National Assembly in the 2027 general elections, and in order to actualize this aim, we launched the #FixNASS2027 Movement to help drive and enforce the needed democratic regime change.
